Events & Programs

Church Council
The Riverside Council oversees the activities of the church, the spiritual welfare of its members and provides assistance where needed. They meet once a month and council consists of six elders and four deacons. Elders by way of annual family visits connect with each member of the congregation. Deacons set up the offering schedule and are there to help all those in need.
Praise Team
The Riverside Praise Team is a mixed group that loves to sing and lead the congregation every Sunday morning in gathering songs. They form an integral part of our worship in not only leading our singing but also teaching new songs.
Worship Committee
The Worship Committee oversees the planning of all special services throughout the Christian year, or any other service as requested by Council. This includes finding volunteers to help/participate in these special services. This committee at the beginning of each meeting, undertakes the study of worship through directed devotions or study material.
Coffee Break
Coffee break is a weekly program intended to get the women of our church as well as the women from the community young and old to come together to study and discuss God's Word
Vacation Bible School
This has been a very successful program for many years that takes place during the summer. Community children are invited to join us as they learn more about God’s love and grace through various activities.
Youth Group and Catechism (YAC)
Youth Group and Catechism have been combined to form YAC. Our youth and leaders meet every Wednesday evening where time is set aside for Catechism instruction as well as fun times during each evening. Various service projects such as a community food drive for Open Arms Missions are planned throughout the year.
Community Outreach
The Outreach Committee encourages involvement of Riverside members into various activities: Vacation Bible School, Coffee Break, Fair Ministry, and Children’s Activity Hour in Chippewa Park. They also set up a Community Christmas service and organize an Evangelism Week in the fall.
GEMS
This girls’ program meets Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 pm and is for girls ages 8-13. Through lessons the girls learn to apply the Bible to life. They also participate in team building and develop skills through badge work and creative and fun crafts.
Cadets
Cadets is a place where leaders share the joy and wisdom of Christlike living with boys ages 9-13 every Thursday evening from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. This is done through Bible study, crafts, projects, games and merit badge achievement awards.
Visual Arts Committee
This committee creates banners and other decorations that enhance our worship each Sunday as well as for our special services throughout the Christian year.
